
James B. Mattax Jr., MD, FACS
Dr. James Mattax specializes in cataract and lens replacement surgery, LASIK and advanced surface ablation laser vision correction, and the treatment of cornea and external diseases. Born and raised in Oklahoma City, Dr. Mattax graduated with honors from Oklahoma State University. He received his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, where he was awarded membership in the Medical Honor Society, Alpha Omega Alpha. Dr. Mattax completed his internship and residency in Ophthalmic Surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and underwent additional training in as a Fellow in Cornea and Refractive surgery.
Dr. Mattax is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.
