25 Years of Service

Dr. Kenneth Neu retired from Mattax Neu Prater Eye Center in 2023.

A Co-founder of Mattax Neu Prater Eye Center, Dr. Ken Neu practiced comprehensive ophthalmology, specializing in cataract surgery, glaucoma management, and oculoplastics.

After earning a Bachelor of Science degree from University of Notre Dame, Dr. Ken Neu graduated from the University of Missouri School of Medicine. He completed a residency in ophthalmology and internal medicine at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and received additional glaucoma training at the Advanced Glaucoma Diagnostic and Treatment Center in Ft. Worth, TX.

Dr. Ken Neu first received his certification by the American Board of Ophthalmology in 1996 and was subsequently recertified twice. He served as Chair of Ophthalmology at Cox Hospital from 2010-2011 and served on the Developmental Board for Springfield Catholic Schools for seven years.

Now in retirement, Dr. Ken Neu is actively involved with his spouse and three children in sports and gardening activities, such as tending his 125 rose bushes.
